Dear sir or madam,

As the Vice Dean of School of International Business, Tianjin Foreign Studies

University (TFSU), I am writing with pleasure to recommend Wang Ye to your esteemed university.

I got to know her personally since 2019 as I was her class advisor. And I taught her International Economics. In my course, she showed her craving for knowledge. She often read relative economic books to enrich herself. And she also asked me to recommend some text books and materials to study. When she had confusion, she always tried her best to figure out the question.

Miss Wang is a self-motivated student. For all I know, her average score is over 85 and she won scholarships every year in the past three years. Therefore, she was selected into the experimental class in the third academic year. This class consists of the best students of Department of International Economics and Trade, Department of Economics and Department of Finance. What’s more, she practiced in a small company to gain experience during the winter and summer vacations.

I am confident that she will be qualified and perform as well as she did in TFSU. Therefore, I recommend her with enthusiasm. I hope that you will consider her application favorably. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need more information.

因此,个人认为,文书的作用是connect the dots in your application,对你的资料进行画龙点睛的作用。

Maths Personal StatementThe idea of proof has always held a real fascination for me. The process of starting from a simple set of axioms and deriving almost any mathematical truth (putting Godel to one side) is what truly separates Mathematics from any other subject. It is the closest we can ever get to absolute truth, and therein lies its sheer beauty and the reason it is the only subject for me. Of course, it\'s also a good deal of fun.

I have tried to extend my Maths as much as possible beyond the classroom, and whenever I do so I uncover either some completely new and intriguing area of Mathematics or a very neat trick I hadn\'t thought of in more familiar territory.

One example of this is my attendance at weekly lectures given by the department of Mathematics at Bristol University, covering topics from the Mathematics of juggling to quantum mechanics, although some of my favourites have been those on the less exotic ^inequalities^, which taught me a lot about thinking about problems creatively.

I also attended a summer school run by the National Academy of Gifted and Talented Youth at the University of Durham, where I spent two weeks being introduced to various approachable first year undergraduate topics such as proof by induction, Markov chains and using Maple.

This experience not only allowed me to discover areas of Mathematics I would not otherwise have encountered, but also gave me a small taste of university life, as there was a large number of us living in one of the am also involved in the UKMT mentoring scheme, whereby each month I am given a sheet of questions in areas not touched on at A level, such as geometry and number theory, giving me a good opportunity to explore new mathematical ideas myself, and gain a much deeper appreciation of the interconnections within Mathematics and the creation of proofs.

I am a member of the school\'s Maths team and we are regularly successful in competing against teams from other schools in the area. I also attend STEP sessions at local schools when available, as I find the questions much more interesting than the standard A level ones, and thinking about how to solve them has greatly improved my rigour in approaching problems.

Among the mathematical books I have read, I enjoyed ^Godel, Escher, Bach^, which gives a good grounding in axiomatic reasoning and formal systems, whilst at the same time pointing out their major flaw. I also liked ^To infinity and beyond^ by Eli Maor, which deals with the concept of infinity, its implications and its paradoxes, both I am also involved in the UKMT mentoring scheme, whereby each month I am given a sheet of questions in areas not touched on at A level, such as geometry and number theory, giving me a good opportunity to explore new mathematical ideas myself, and gain a much deeper appreciation of the interconnections within Mathematics and the creation of proofs.

I particularly enjoy the pure side of the A level syllabus, especially trigonometry and calculus, as they involve a certain degree of proof and introduce new concepts.

I believe my other academic subjects all complement Mathematics as they are about finding ways of describing reality, be it through language in French or through equations and models in Physics and Chemistry. I find Critical Thinking especially relevant as it is about the construction of sound logical arguments, an art lying at the heart of Mathematics in proof. I have achieved an A grade in all modules across all my subjects.

In my spare time, I practise kickboxing, and have competed in various local competitions. As a volunteer, I am involved in a year seven Maths mentoring scheme and help at a homeless shelter.

I enjoy travelling, and will be going to Nicaragua for a month after my A levels to help in a small village, explore the local jungles and volcanoes and practise my Spanish. I lived in France from the ages of 9 to 12, and learnt to adapt to a new language and culture.

I very much look forward to exploring the new ideas of University level Mathematics, and playing a full part in University life.

Dear teacher

Hello!

My name is Yu, I\'m 18 years old____ Senior three.

At 20_ I took part in the national physics competition of middle school students in autumn of, and won the second prize. So I got to participate_ I\'m not qualified. For this, I feel very surprised and honored. After consideration and weighing, I chose your university as my goal. Although facing the unknown results, I was uneasy, but I decided to give it a try.

I am a child through books to accept the Confucian and Taoist culture, I treat people with courtesy, also can be honest and trustworthy, enthusiastic collective. It\'s just that sometimes people become estranged because of too much etiquette. Sometimes it lacks the courage to stand up. I\'m trying to change myself.

In my study, I have been able to rank in the top ten of the class, and my grades are superior in the whole school. However, in front of the college entrance examination, this is not an ideal result. I\'m good at science - sometimes I\'m the first in my class, but I\'m not good at liberal arts. I like to study problems and problems, and I like to ponder things quietly. I am evaluated as ^a student who thinks differently from others^ by the teacher. I dare not say whether I am excellent or not, but I enjoy the feeling of being different.

In the extracurricular, I have a wide range of interests, in independent research has also been more proud of my achievements. I once spent a year in my spare time to make a game. The work was praised for its ingenuity and creativity, but its popularity was low due to the lack of plot. During the year, the production process was intermittent, and the program idea made me racking my brain, constantly carrying on the psychological struggle between playing games and doing projects. Collect materials, algorithms, audio clips... Every step is very attentive. Many firsts have given me a lot of experience. Then, when it is finally completed, the joy is irreplaceable. I learned one very important thing, that is persistence.

Another part-time experience that benefited me a lot was music score. Because I like a piece of TV music very much, I try to write it as a piano score. I have cet-5 certificate of amateur electronic organ, but it is still not easy. After the bottleneck, I turned to the Internet. However, how many people will help strangers to do this kind of trouble? The answer is zero. So I decided to do it by myself. I didn\'t expect that after my own efforts, I really wrote it! From this, I learned another important thing, that is, to be self reliant. No one can rely on you. It is meaningful to overcome difficulties by ourselves.

Therefore, it is reasonable to believe that although I can only achieve the upper secondary school grades in the current, I will certainly be able to do my best when I go to the university to study my favorite subjects and yearn for them. At that time, I would choose my own career and devote myself to it. Believe me to do better - and I hope you can believe it.

I think my most important advantage is that I have time - just like everyone else. I still have the opportunity to change myself and complete myself in my four years of University. To fight for it, that\'s what I\'m doing now. I hope your school can give me a chance to realize myself. Looking forward to your approval!

Sincerely

Salute!

^All I know about leadership I learned from …….^ What items could a personuse to describe leadership qualities?

Inspired by the student council advisors at my high school.

Student council was a big part of my life in high school. I have participatedin it since my frst year of high school. When I frst joined,I was quiet,na?ve,and unwilling to participate in many activities. I was scared to meet new peopleand afraid to apply myself. This all began to change. Half way through my frstyear in student council, one of the advisors can up to me and asked why I didnot participate that much. I did not have an answer for her and did not know howto respond. After this,I began to think of an answer. I became frustrated anddecided to change. I started to show up at events and had a great time. Irealized I loved this and wanted to start leading these activities. In mysophomore, junior, and now my senior year of high school,I asserted myself andtook on a strong leadership role in student council. I did not fgure out theanswer to why I was so reserved until this year with the help of thisquestion.

When I looked up leadership in the dictionary,it said that it was thecapacity to lead and the act or instance of leading. These are two very broaddefnitions of leadership. Many people have different notions of what this wordactually means. When I was challenged to use different items to describe whatleadership actually is,I thought this was going to be a hard and obnoxioustask. What could I learn from comparing leadership to a stuffed animal or arubber chicken? But when I sat down to come up with a couple of answers,Irealized that leadership could be compared to almost anything a personwants.

All I know about leadership I learned from a calculator. A calculator can addeverything together to come up with the best answer. It can delet e what isunnecessary and only include what is important. It can solve any type ofproblem. These are all important equalities a leader has to have. A leader hasto be able to add all of the ideas together to make the best possible have to know how to decipher the good and the bad out of an idea. Theyhave to be versatile and know how to deal with different types of issues.

All I know about leadership I learned from a ball. A ball is able to bounceback up after it is dropped. It is round and has no creases. A ball can bethrown back and forth to different people. All of these qualities are alsoleadership qualities. A leader has to be ready for every situation that isthrown at him or her. He or she has to be able to bounce back from any setbacksand never dwell on the past. Leaders have to exhibit many qualities and never beclosed-minded about a situation. A leader must be able to delegate when he orshe cannot get the work done. They have to trust everyone they lead to be ableto ^catch the ball^ and keep a project rolling.

This activity made me realize that being a leader is so much more than justhaving authority and having the ability to take control of a situation. A leaderhas to be trusting of all the people he or she leads and, leaders must be ableto combine ideas into one encompassing idea. They cannot sit in the backgroundand watch events happen; they have to jump in and be involved. They should notdelegate all their responsibilities away.

Leadership is more than what the dictionary says it is.

I learned through all of this that I have many of these qualities.

I have the ability to solve problems, lead through adversity, and beversatile. From answering this question,I realized that I could leadeffectively, even if my leadership style is different from other I joined student council in my frst year of high school,I did not havethese qualities because I was never put into a situation where I had to lead. Iwas too reserved to try. When I tried,I learned that I could succeed in this. Idid not realize until I answered this question about leadership. I was neverable to see that being a leader is not just about taking control of a group andtelling everyone what to do When I was a freshman,I thought leadership wasthis. I did not know that did not have to be forceful and strict. I stereotypeda leader then. Thisis where I went wrong. A leader is about being yourself andnever letting anyone change you. I thought I had to change to be a goodleaderOnly when I expanded my comfort zone did I realize this was not trueItonly took three years and a silly question/game to fgure this out.

Dear Sir:

The purpose behind this personal statement is to not only gain admission to your well-established and highly respected . program, but to impress upon you my passion for learning and my tremendous desire to succeed in both scholastic research and in teaching on the professional level. I have based my decision to pursue an academic career not on purely practical reasons, but rather on my own natural interests and aptitude. My personal philosophy is that money and social status should not be pursued as life-consuming objectives and that in actuality they are the by-products of goals originating from ones inner needs. I understand that my intellectual capacity is a gift, and I intend to use this gift to the very best of my substantial capabilities.

I am interested in the field of study of Organizational Behavior. In the past,I have had the experience of working in settings where the people and the corporate cultures of the companies were all different. I have found that there is a great difference in the both the behaviors of people and of their organizations, depending on whether they are state-owned enterprises (SOEs),large multinational firms,or small to medium sized foreign enterprises. One simple example is that of the ability of an employee to act independently without direct instructions from his or her boss. In many Chinese organizations, acting without direct instructions is considered a form of disrespect towards the supervisor, who is generally offended by such behavior. In my experience and research, such organizations tend to have low operating efficiency with the employees losing their innate ability to take the initiative.

Dear Sir:

I am a student, graduated from BaoYang middle school, Nanning, GuangXi autonomous region, in 20_. I am still studying in high school now, because I was not enrolled by the ideal university last year. Recently, I have a dream to study abroad. Then I search online and find that it is more convenient and suitable for me to go to New Zealand for study.

First, New Zealand is a multicultural country, which has the most advanced education in the world. Second, the tuition is lower than other countries’, which I think is more reasonable for me. Finally, the climate of New Zealand is similar with the climate of the South of China. Considering above reasons, I told my parents my plan on going to New Zealand for study, and my parent agreed with me.

As a girl, I like preschool education since I was young. Nowadays, Chinese parents, who want their children to get better education, pay more attention to preschool education. If I study specialized curriculums on preschool education, I will go back China and work hard on preschool education after leaving college.

My plan is as follows: first, I plan to study English in language institute for about a half year in New Zealand. Then, I will study specialized curriculums on preschool education.

I believe I have the ability of study abroad, because I have finished all high school curriculums. Besides, my parents both have job and have rich income, so they will support me to finish my study. After finishing my study, I will return to my homeland and work on preschool education, so as to realize my life value.

Dear x:

I have always been brimming with questions about the how and why of theworld around me. In fact, one of my biology teachers once commented in responseto my constant questioning that I was an extremely curious student and apleasure to have in class.

When in the 8th grade we began studying the three sciences independently, Ideveloped a special affinity towards biology and chemistry. Medicine was thefirst thought that came to mind when I thought about a career in Biology andChemistry but I could not foresee myself working in a clinic on a day to daybasis. I was then introduced to my first Robin Cook book, ‘Fever’, the first ofmany to follow. It was then that I realised how dependent the medical communityis on research and that there are a myriad career options that are open to aresearch scientist.

Being a student of the International Baccalaureate program, I got a lot ofexposure to laboratory work which I thoroughly enjoyed. The InternationalBaccalaureate encourages its students to question knowledge and test theoriesfor themselves, an approach which suited me perfectly. The of the program to science helped me broaden my perspective of the scopeof research and crystallised my decision to study a course in . India is on the threshold of becoming a world leader in clinicalresearch, however, the fact still remains that the leadership in innovativeresearch still lies in the hands of scientists trained in the universities ofEurope is what prompted me to apply to the your university.

What amazes me about this line of study is how all living organisms whethercomplex or simple ultimately are a collection of cells, entities so tiny and yetso powerful that they determine the nature of the organism. DNA is nothing morethan a chemical compound but what is it that gives it the capability todetermine the characteristics of an organism? How is it that cells communicateusing chemistry? What molecular activity determines the genetic makeup of aspecies? The wide range of interrelated modules offered by your university willlay a strong foundation before I narrow down the scope of my education.

My love and appreciation of nature’s mysteries has been strengthenedthrough numerous treks, camps and equestrian training and has found applicationto this field of study.

Your university’s state of the art research facilities are what attractedme to apply to your undergraduate course since the line of study and work that Iplan to follow requires just that. The opportunity to meet and interact with theeminent scientists who are members of the faculty is something I really lookforward to.

My tenure as Head Girl and years in boarding school have honed myorganisational and communication skills and developed a sense of team spirit andresponsibility which will aid my academic and personal interactions atuniversity. Being in an international environment will contribute to the shapingof my ideas on moral issues like the ethics of cloning and stem cell researchwhich need to be addressed by the research fraternity, of which I aspire tobecome a part. I realise that the program requires commitment and hard work andassure you that I will make a positive contribution to your department/it. Ihope to have the opportunity to interact with other international and localstudents to further my interest in drama and theatre, my passion for music andmy love for sports. It would be a privilege to be an active and involved memberof the student community and to study at your university.

My interest in science dates back to my early childhood. I have always excelled in physical sciences and have received numerous awards in mathematics in high school. At age 18, I attended Beijing Normal University, majoring in physics. Four years of extensive study on in physics and my current work in surface science inspire me to undertake a greater challenge in pursuing a doctorate degree in physics. My aspiration to be a research scientist also makes the graduate study an absolute necessity for me. As an undergraduate student, I specialized in physics, mathematics, and computer science. And in my junior year study I studied computational physics in Applied mathematics III, during which I developed a 2-dmensional model with the finite size effect as a course project. in addition to being elated by my computer simulated phase transition phenomena, I was also pleased with the computed values of the critical exponents which closely agree with theoretical values. During the two-year course on the fundamentals of experimental physics, I diligently studied the techniques of operating experimental equipment, such as the epitaxy systems, lithography, and computer controlled data acquisition interfaces. I enjoyed these hand-on experiences. My current duty, as a research assistant, is to set up diamond film growth kinetics experiments which is designed to verify whether the mechanism of H atoms destroying C-H bonds in diamond film growth is the bottleneck reaction to diamond film formation. The results will give valuable insights and better enhance the research efforts of another group here. In the meantime, I am learning about the scanning probe microscopy, charged particle optics, energy analyzers and instruments used in surface science through the seminars held in my group. In order to be knowledgeable in the breadth of physics, I have attended workshop and symposiums in different fields. In the symposium on Symmetries in Subatomic Physics held in 1995 in Beijing, I worked as an interpreter and edited the article ^Conceptual Beginnings of Various Symmetries in the Twentieth century Physics^ from Prof. C. N. Frank yangs speech and translated it into Chinese. Not only did I keep an open mind to get experiences in academics, I also actively participated in extracurricular activities in my university years. In the senior year, I was a part-time teaching assistant grading exams and answering questions in the courses, A Journey to Subatomic World and From Quarks to Black Holes. I also had a part-time position as the bulletin board system administrator for the Physical Society of PRC. I am currently constructing their WWW home page to improve information exchange and science education in China. Accumulating these valuable experiences, I am preparing myself for a career in scientific research. Being exposed to surface science, I am interested in mesoscopic systems and nanostructure materials. I plan to concentrate on condensed matter physics. Having carefully read the content of the graduate studies and on-going research programs at University of Washington at Seattle, I believe that UW is the best place for me to be. I am confident in that my diverse research experiences together with a firm commitment to physics have merited me to be qualified to undertake graduate study at the University of Washington at Seattle.

中间部分围绕主题层层展开,详叙文字,填充内容,展现自己; 开头部分要足够吸引人的眼球,先声夺人,能够吸引人继续读下去,同时点明主题;

同学们可以把UCAS(Universities and Colleges Admissions Service)类比做美国的Common App,都是一个让同学们提交自己各种材料给大学的平台。
