关于青少年犯罪

One of the much-talked-about present-day social problems is juvenile delinquency, and its rateof frequency is seemingly on the rise.

It is reported in newspapers that the delinquents range in age from 12 to 18. Only a smallportion have committed serious crimes like kidnapping and murdering. Those cases arehandled through the court system. Most of the delinquencies fall into four categories: brawling, including gang fighting with deadly weapons; theft, mostly petty, sexually and addiction to drugs. The delinquents are generally placed under by neighbourhood committees, work units or reform schools.

The causes of juvenile delinquency are varied. Through media we often come across thefollowing cases:

Ill-treatment to teenagers by their step-fathers or stepmothers often lead to family tragedies. School pupil delinquents, being not properly cared for, have chronic behaviour problems. Theirparents are too busy either with business or with gambling. Still, there are cases resulted fromparents\' or grandparents\' indulgence to their darlings. Petty theft once or twice is notpunished but encouraged. Gradually these petty thieves grow addicted to stealing . Adolescentstried drugs mostly out of curiosity before they finally became habitual drug-takers.

Not a few examples can be found around us in our daily life. Limited by time and space, I haveto skip them over. However, juvenile delinquency, being a serious social problem concerningthe young generation, certainly deserves special attention. I think of all the things we can do, the most fundamental one is deepening and strengthening education so as to ultimately savethe young.

2021年6月六级英语作文 第2篇

Every new generation is different from the one that preceded it. Today the difference is verymarked indeed.

Old people are always saying that the young are not what they were. The same comment ismade from generation to generation and it is always true. It has never been truer than it istoday. The young are better educated. They have a lot more money to spend and enjoy morefreedom. They grow up quickly and are not so dependent on their parents. They think more ofthemselves and do not blindly accept the idea of their elders. Events which the older generationremembers vividly are nothing more than past history.

Just look at the teenage girls who scream hysterically over the pop stars and the teenage boyswho copy the stars and grow their hair long and are no longer ashamed of wearing --pretty-- clothes, are simply breaking through the chinese traditional reserve and fear of showing theirfeelings. What is more, nowadays most boys and girls are good companions and some of themeven fall in --puppy love.-- A lot of older people sigh and say, --we did not use to do like this.--

Do you think the older people\'s criticism stems from jealousy just because they could not ordid not behave in the same way when they were young?

Do Libraries Become Useless at the Age of Information?

There has been a heated discussion about libraries at the age of information among people. Some people, especially the younger generation, challenge the value of conventional libraries. When they need any information in their studies or work, they can turn to their computers for help. For this reason, they do not need to go to a library for borrowing or returning one or two books.

While others, including most old people as well as scholars, value libraries. They love libraries because they can enjoy peace and quietness in an isolated spiritual world. And they also have access to rare academic works needed for their studies in the libraries.

In my view, conventional libraries are still available though there is still much room for improving. At the Age of Information, as long as knowledge is respected and cherished, libraries won’t extinct from our lives. On the other hand, libraries should not refuse the latest information technology, which will enable them to regain those young readers.

--Nowadays people are selfish and greedy .-- Do you agree or disagree with this pointof view?

There is no doubt that some people are selfish and greedy. For example, some merchants selltheir fake commodities at the market place for more profit. They are rich and want to be richer. There are also government officials who sell people\'s trust. Senior officials who take bribes byselling the power in their hands are not a few. Those people believe in the precept --everyonefor himself and the devil take the hindmost.--

However, the majority of people are neither selfish nor greedy. They contribute much and askfor little. Countless examples can be found around us, the PLA soldiers who for saving people\'s lives in fighting the disastrous floods and the warriors in whitewho risked their lives to save SARS victims being two of the most typical. In contr ast to theselfish and corrupt official they are heroes, who set up glorious images for us.

The idea that nowadays people are selfish and greedy is probably attributed to the influence ofthe mass media which tend to over exaggerate the negative aspects of life. Manynewspapers, particularly many local evening papers, and TV films play up nastiness by reportingand showing too much about violence and sex. A lot of books, too, portray selfishness andgreed to seek sensational effect and economic profit. I wonder whether they are selfish andgreedy, too?

How to Arrange Your Time at College?

Nowadays, people are divided on the question how students should arrange their school days. Some people claim students should spend the whole school days in academic studies. However, others contend physical exercise should be a required part of every school day.

As for me, I will choose the latter without hesitation. Being a student, his or her main task is to work hard on his or her academic study. Only by studying hard can he or she obtain adequate knowledge from academic studies. Nevertheless, I don’t think a student should focus on studying too much, he or she should join in other meaningful activities. For instance, doing physical exercise is a good way to make students’ life more colorful and beneficial.

In a word, when students gain knowledge from academic studies, they should not neglect to relax themselves and take regular physical exercise.
