1 英语课程改革中教师观念的转变

从学习的内涵来看,应该转变“课堂中学英语”为“生活中学英语”。语言来源于生活,英语是一门语言,因此,英语来源于生活,又必须回归于和生活,语言只有在生活中才能赋予活性和灵性。语言强调“communication and conversation”,因此,笔者主张在生活中学英语,在活动中用英语,在英语教学中去体验英语,做到“教中做”、“做中教”、“学中做”、“做中学”,“教、学、做”统一的教学思想。即英语教学应该与实际生活结合起来,变传统中“单一的课堂中学英语”为“生活中灵活学英语、用英语”。

从学习的形式上来看,变“传统的灌输式”为互动式“在传统的英语教学中,教师特别重视学生课堂上英语知识的消化,讲究知识点的掌握程度,教学中重视课内知识的封闭传授而轻视课内外方法的开放学习,这种传统的灌输式使学生缺乏灵活性和创造性。在课堂上极大限度地为学生提供机会,使学生的主体作用得到充分的再现。教师应该改变传统的教学观念,教会学生学习英语的方法,让学生“会学”英语,培养学生和老师互动式学习,这是当今英语教学中重要的方法。

2 英语教学改革与教师角色的转变

教师由“知识的传授者”转变为:“情境的设计者、策划者”。在课堂活动开始之前,教师首先应该是一个策划者,他应当确定好教学内容,对于重点和难点做到心中有数;同时他还必须了解对象,并根据教学内容和教学对象来选择适当的教学方法,精心设计好各种教学活动。一般来说,丰富多彩的实践活动比单一不变的灌输更具有吸引力,更易于激发学生的参与意识。整个教学活动的成败在很大程度上取决于教师的策划。从“学习的管理者”转变为“学生学习互动的导演者、参与者、创造者”在教学中,我们也可以把学生比作演员,教师比作导演。教师的主要任务是领导学习活动。在宏观上要根据教学大纲的精神进行正确的导向;在微观上要在每一个教学步骤上进行演示,保证活动有组织、有计划地进行。

2、在批改作业方面。学生的作业总是按时及时地批改,并详细地做好批注,对普遍性错误,在全班重复讲解、分析。针对个别学生的作业还采取面批方法,一一地分析讲解、帮助学生解决疑难习题,大大提高了教学质量。

3、在听力方面。为提高学生的听力水平,常让学生听英语歌曲及英语会话的录音磁带,还让学生表演对话,背书。

在外国公司做事,久了就发现我们中国人虽然在技术方面不错,但在做presentation方面的能力,则比西方人,以及同属亚洲的印度人,新加坡人,要逊色很多,水平有明显的差距,

那么,差距主要表现在哪里呢? 首先是ppt文件有不足之处。其次是语言表达能力比较薄弱。ppt文件提供了视觉要素,而语言表达提供了听觉要素,如果在视觉和听觉两方面我们都没有满足观众的要求,就会防碍思想的交流,直接影响presentation的效果。

对于ppt文件,我们有时写得太长或太短,有时则不注意选择合适的模板。我见过一个同事,总爱用一种类似于一本日记本的模板,尽管模板本身很有艺术气息,但一旦在上面加入文字,尤其是图形之后,日记本固有的横线就会给视觉带来很大的干扰。另外,试图在一个页面上罗列太多的论点也是常有的不明智的选择。因为这会让观众眼花缭乱,无法集中注意力。

在语言表达方面,问题则更多。例如发音不够标准,口齿不清,不善于组织语言,犯太多语法错误,讲话冗长,逻辑和思路混乱,等等。种种问题都会导致同一个结果,那就是无法恰到好处地对页面进行生动的阐述,使之易于被听众理解。良好的语言表达,是页面的必要补充,起到锦上添花的作用。相反,语言表达不好,往往会让精心制作的ppt文件黯然失色。

接收“敏于行,讷于言”的传统教育的中国人,对语言能力的培养一向是不够重视的。这体现在我们的学校教育中,给予语言训练的时间非常有限。中国人的心态,也一向看不起那些油嘴滑舌,能说会道的人。这其实是一个很大的认识误区。虽然在学校里语言的重要性没有充分体现出来,但在工作之后,我们都会慢慢发现,语言技能对职业生涯的影响其实非比寻常。就拿presentation来说吧,如果它总是很不成功,会带来不少负面影响。首先,尽管你可能尽了很大努力,但最终你的思想没有被听众理解和接受,无法引起他们的共鸣,在某种程度上,是浪费彼此的时间。其次,足以打击自信心。 观众们流露出的困惑迷惘甚至怀疑的神情,会让你为此不安或产生自卑感。另外,也会影响公司同事和上级对你的评价,为你在公司长期的立足和升迁投下阴影,导致自己的事业发展受到限制。

制作一个界面友好的ppt文件是成功的第一步,因为它是你和观众沟通的第一座桥梁。要做好ppt文件,首先要熟练掌握powerpoint的使用。其次可参考专业级的ppt文件,向它们的风格靠拢。然后考虑要包含哪些主要观点。把论点和辅助材料进行罗列,整理和归类,使内容更富条理性和逻辑性。内容的取舍固然重要,选择合适的形式也不容忽视。对不同页面,要从怎样更清晰直观的角度,决定采用文字还是图。如果图更好,不要因为怕麻烦而改用文字。对于重要的系统框图,一定要精心设计,并选择合适的颜色,颜色对视觉而言是很重要的因素。

当ppt文件准备好之后,接下来要面对的难题是说什么,如何说。

很少有人提笔事先写下发言稿。实际上,如果能够事先设计好发言辞,到了真正要讲的时候,就不会紧张得不知该说什么。关于发言稿的必要性,我们存在一些思维误区。例如我们通常觉得既然是演讲,就应该是自由的,随性的。认为到了现场,看到一张张页面,就会自然地条件反射而想到该说什么。但从自身的体会,和对他人的观察,发现这些想当然的结论是靠不住的。以我自己为例,尽管我的口语称得上流利,但每当打开新页面时,第一反应竟是脑海空白,想不起要说什么,从哪里说起。以普通中国人的英语口语水平,还真地无法在短短几秒钟之内理清思路,把语言很好地组织起来。

既然出口成章暂时不可能,那就不如事先把该说的话周密地计划好。所以我刚才提到要先准备发言稿。为什么电影中的台词和对白永远比真实生活中的来得高明和富有感染力呢?原因很简单,因为剧作家早已精心构思好了剧本,

演员只需以饱满的情绪念出台词就能达到很好的艺术效果。假如没有剧本,导演只告诉演员一个故事大纲,然后让他们在拍摄时自由发挥,想说什么说什么。那会是多么混乱的局面,又怎么可能出现预期中的精彩对白呢?这就是有准备和没准备的差别。

大家也许会羡慕美国总统,英国首相等政治家们的滔滔不绝,口若悬河的演讲能力,其实,他们的演讲稿大多是助手们预先拟好的。有哪一个美国总统够胆量在就职仪式上即兴发言吗?哪怕他再雄辨再自信,也绝对不会这样做。相反,为力求完美,达到“语不惊人誓不休”的效果,华盛顿的文胆们事先不知查阅多少有关文献,有过多少绞尽脑汁的思考,度过多少难眠之夜。当然,公司内外的presentation在重要程度和规格要求上无法和总统就职仪式相比,但准备功夫同样要做足。否则怎么可能有精彩的表演呢?

可以利用powerpoint的note page功能,对每一页添加注释。这些注释连在一起,就成了完整的发言稿,基本上就是自己到了现场将要说的话。注释不必写得很长,只需言简意赅地对页面进行概括即可,必要时可插入一些题外话。notepage 可以打印出来,发言时不妨拿着它,以方便提词。有了底稿作为基础,就很容易根据现场情况作即兴的发挥。

对于以图为主的页面,由于文字较少,更需要计划好说些什么。图只是一个骨架,需要用语言让它变得丰满。在现场可以使用荧光棒,逐一指向图中的有关模块,引导听众追随你的视线和思路。

对于以bullets为主的页面,其实要讲的已经在页面上列举出来了。所以基本上只要照着念,并适当地使用一些衔接词就可以了。

在页面切换时,也要注意使用衔接词或句子来承上启下。例如,在打开下一个页面之前,可以说:刚才我们已经谈到了。。。虽然那种算法已经满足要求,但最近我们又发现了一个效果更好的。。。这样,就很自然地过渡到了下一页。

重要的原则是,通过显示页面,以及围绕它所做的发言,能保证你的讯息得到充分的传达,使听众能够轻松地明白你的观点和思路。可以把自己想象成听众,或找一个好友做听众,看是否能达到这一目的。

为了保证现场的效果,可以事先多练习。对那些经常想不起如何发音的单词,一定要反复诵读,以防忘记。据说美国总统布什在公开演讲中常闹念错单词发音的笑话,总统尚且如此,一般人更少不了这个毛病。虽然偶而念错字是可以原谅的小细节,但如果这种情形连续发生,就难免会影响别人的观感了。

充分准备发言稿,再加上扎实的口语基本功,足以保证presentation达到相当的水平。与发言稿可随时提笔写不同,口语是很难临时抱佛脚的。它是多年积累的结果。所以,在平时要多说英语,注意纠正不标准的英语发音和避免犯语法错误。留心吐字是否清晰,节奏感和语调是否恰到好处,等等。多观摩政治家们或大公司总裁们的精彩演讲应该会有所启发。

如同技术才能一样,presentation的能力对于一个人的职业生涯是很重要的,所以要引起我们足够的重视。不要轻视每一个presentation的机会,把它做好是我们的责任和义务。应该多对自己在presentation中的表现进行反思,找出问题所在,思考提高水平的途经。除了可以参考本文中的建议之外,更可结合自己的情况,想出更多更好的解决方案。

对于那些presentation已有不错水平的人,则可以考虑如何做得更完美,更有感染力。在发言中不妨加入一些幽默诙谐的色彩,会有意想不到的效果。例如在开场,中间或结束时,来一点和主题有关的小幽默。可以活跃现场,让气氛轻松。另外,要注重和听众的眼神交流,要善于根据他们的反应及时对发言做出调整。

说课,是教育理论与教育实践的高度结合,要在有限的时间内(八至十二分钟)向听众阐明一节音乐课“教什么”、“怎么教”“为什么这样教”。通过说课能直观地反映出一名音乐教师的教学理念,专业素质、语言表达,逻辑思维等方面,并且说课不受时间环境空间限制。因此,不论在各学校的教师招聘中,或是教师专业比赛中说课成了必不可少的一环节。本文旨在探究音乐说课的各个环节,通过借鉴英语教学中的^模式使说课过程结构清晰,内容紧凑,环环相扣。本节课设计五个环节,其中对教学过程的阐述是音乐课说课的核心环节。

第一环节:对教材及学情的分析

一、开场白——在开场白中提炼说课过程

为了使听众对你的所说内容有一个整体的概括性的了解,你需要在自我介绍的环节里提炼你的说课过程。设计如下:

尊敬的各位老师,我是**来自**,今天我说课的内容是《黄水谣》。我主要从五个方面来说本课:一是对教材及学情的分析;二是对教学目标及重难点的确定;三是教学方法及手段的采用;四是对教学过程的阐述;五总结。

二、说教材、说学情——教材分析和学情分析语言简洁、准确

《黄水谣》是有是**教材第*册的一首独唱作品,选自谢星海的《黄水谣》第四乐章,歌曲为a b a’带再现的三段体结构,情绪富于戏剧性可以概括为美好——悲惨——凄惨。从学情上看,学生第四单元《保卫黄河》中已接触和了解《黄河大合唱》的相关知识,但对《黄水谣》尚不熟悉。本课为第一课时。

第二环节:对教学目标及重难点的确定

一、说教学目标——教学目标准确,教学重难点清晰、教学方法科学新颖。因此,我把教学目标确定如下:

在知识目标方面,学生可以准确把握《黄水谣》的首准节奏,理解歌曲内涵。

在能力目标方面:学生能过理解歌曲内涵前提下,驾驭歌曲情绪,生动的表现歌曲。

在情感目标方面:通过教学再现中华民族曾经的血雨胜风,学生的爱国情感,增强团结努力。

二、说重难点——依据教学目标,确定重难点。

本节课教学重点确定为:把握《黄河谣》的音准、节奏。因为旋律与节奏是音乐存在的两大基本要素。难点便是:对歌曲情绪的驾驭和表现。因为音乐是情感的艺术,演唱过程更是情感表达的过程,但这一过程通常因人而异,因此把贴近作曲家的意图,更生动地表达歌曲情绪作为难点。

第三环节:是教学方法及手段的采用

为了实践教学目标,强化重难点,我主要来用以下教学方法:

1、多媒体展示法。以此激发学生感性认识,进入歌曲情境。

2、讲解示范法。教师直观清晰向学生传达知识。

3、学生互学法与游戏练习法。前者是让一部分学生在第四环节扮演指挥家,歌唱家、舞蹈家、音乐教师等角色,实现学生互学;后者用“开火车”游戏使第三环节“跟琴填词”中,原本枯燥的学习新知过程更加紧张生动。

准备的教具有:多媒体、钢琴。

第四环节:是对教学过程的阐述

教学过程是说课的核心环节。用实用、先进的教学理念贯穿教学过程。本节课的教学过程,我借鉴使用了教学中的PPP模式,即presentation,practice,production。

一、presentation呈现

本阶段旨在唤起学生感性认识,让学生在头脑中呈现原有有关本科主题的知识体系,情绪上进入教学氛围。

导入环节:观赏^图片及大合唱《保卫黄河》视频,通过提问“你对《黄河大合唱》的了解?”引出冼星海及《黄河大合唱》,简介冼星海生平及《黄河大合唱》乐章。引出本节课学习的是其中的第四乐章《黄水谣》。此阶段课堂时间约为五分钟,

二、practice练习

本阶段旨在通过不同形式的练习,让学生掌握歌曲结构,旋律,情绪、演唱等知识和技能。强化重难点,做到新旧知识的融合和统一。

新授环节:

1、范唱。带着“歌曲有几段”的问题,听教师范唱。

2、配乐朗诵。带着“分别用两个形容词表达三段的情绪”的思考朗诵歌词。

3、识谱。教学实践证明,个体识谱音准节奏的偏差放在集体演唱中会有很好的改善。因此在此阶段主要采用集体视唱教学。

4、跟琴填词,此阶段是准确把握歌曲音准节奏的关键。此阶段我采用“开火车”游戏法,即一组一句接龙,活跃课堂气氛,并且容易发现学生演唱的不足之处。

5、巩固重难点。在游戏接龙中巩固教学重点、强化教学难点。

课堂教学不是知识的简单传递,而是学生主动建构的过程,通过游戏法主动建构知识,同时培养学生的协作精神,比简单的弹唱更容易让学生把握。

三、production产品

这一阶段是对新学知识的巩固和自由运用,形象的说,就是使所学内容转化为自己的产品。我是这样设计的:

1、创作。在教师是引导下,分两到三组演唱《黄水谣》。可选择多种艺术表现形式,如:指挥朗诵,独唱,齐唱,即兴舞蹈等。试一试、赛一赛。

2、颁奖。设立“最佳创意奖”“最佳演唱奖”“最佳表演奖”。力争让勇于参与的同学都能得到相应的奖励。我用的奖品便是一张卡片制作的荣誉证书。

此环节号召学生加入创作表演的队伍,既体现了以学生为主的“主体性”教学,又培养了他们的创新能力。此阶段约需10分钟。

教学分析:由于是初一,而教学主题又是学生比较害怕的写作,因而我在教学设计的一开始就采用了比较活泼、学生乐于接受的方式开场,以消除他们的紧张感和抵触情绪。在语言的运用方面,我尽量使用浅显易懂的词汇,以激发学生的主动参与,避免因听不懂老师、看不懂题目而出现“恐学”。比如尽量使用短小单词,如facts,而避免使用information这类big words来给学生造成困扰。在教学过程 中除了使用了学生比较喜欢的多媒体方式外,在主题的切入这方面,我也做了相当的考虑,从预习范文和课上猜谜这两头出发,引导学生自己分析出写作中的信息安排和关键所在,从而写出令他们自己和老师都满意的文章,既达到教学目的,又使学生觉得乐在其中、印象深刻。

1) Sell the idea

You must keep in mind that you are selling something to your audience, whether it be a product, a project, an idea, a strategy, concept or anything else. The primary goal of your presentation must be to convince the audience that they should “buy”.

2) Tell a compelling story

Your presentation of the idea and its ramifications (结果) must be so thorough, attractive and convincing that the audience is eager to buy into what you\'re selling. Basically, you\'re capturing their imagination.

3) Be concise

State your ideas, goals, and benefits received in a crisp (简洁的), brief and meaningful manner.

4) Support your idea and story

1) Key objectives

State the purpose, scope and objectives of the presentation in a clear, concise manner. This can include both qualitative and quantitative elements.

4) Supporting evidence

Support the main body with relevant business charts to illustrate and highlight key figures. Use relevant facts to support your story.

One day while piloting a bomber through the war skies of Europe, I came to believe in the immortality of man. There was not any melodrama attached to this awakening. Only through the thousand details of a mind absorbed in a bomb run came the discovery of a single fact: “Know ye the truth, and the truth shall make ye free.”

Below me were the Alps, and the vision of Hannibal crossing them in his time of war flashed through my mind, followed in rapid succession by the remembrance of all the histories of wars. I looked at the bomber machinery about me and at the battle signs of destruction below and realized this was only one of the thousands of wars man has been engaged in, and still he has flourished. So then, like the warm sun and friendly heaven and God’s other features about me, man, too, must be permanent.

The warmth that came into the subzero cockpit with this divine realization made me know that here, at least for me, was the key to a happiness which had been missing before. The feeling of a day-to-day existence without hope for the tomorrow, changed to a sense of security and the knowledge of having a future. With this truth in mind, one cannot help but try to make a better world to live in.

This awakening came late to me, but with my children it will not be left to happenstance, for I have long since begun to show them the tying in of man’s immortality with the ageless evidences which are everywhere about us: the great artist’s glorious paintings of the heavens at sunrise and sunset; the delicate fragrance of a rose; the simple miracle of a newly born lamb; the massive majesty of snowcapped, purple mountains; the mysterious, many-faced sea hiding a thousands other worlds beneath its cloak; the twinkling lights from stars a billion miles away. They have learned these things are of God and are immortal, just as the music and the paintings of the old masters are God-given and ageless.

“But Daddy,” they have asked me, “the papers say the Atom Bomb will kill off the human race someday, is that so?” How certainly I can assure them now, believing in the imperishability of man as I do. People said that when the spear came into existence, and the bow and arrow, and guns and bullets, and planes and bombs. But there has been someone more powerful than all these forces, and so we are here today, greater in number, healthier in body, and more advanced in science and learning than ever.

Have patience with all this hysteria, I tell them. After all, mankind is only a youngster, like one of you. The Earth is an unknown millions of years old, while man is a mere 6,000 years of age. Mankind is still growing up, comparatively, and his growth can be likened to your own. Its like you and the neighboring children who have words and fight. Someone gets a black eye, but you make up and then you work and play together again, and as you grow more mature you fight less often because you become more intelligent. So will it be with the world.

In giving these simple facts to my children, I continually add to my own faith in mankind. I believe man is basically good in heart, spiritually indestructible, and his place in the sun is assured because he is in God’s image. I believe all these things, sincerely; but more important, my children believe them, for it is they who hold the combination to man’s future peace and happiness.

Ever since Socrates was introduced to my adolescent mind he has been one chief master of my thinking. What he believed still seems to me to be indispensable for carrying on an intelligent and responsible life. He believed that he did not know. For myself, I have come to change his negative into a positive. I know that there is far more in this universe for me to know than I now know.

I recently had a dramatic illustration of this. My wife and I, driving through Arizona, stopped at a “collector’s shop” in Tucson, where stones and minerals of many kinds were on display. In the course of the visit, we were taken into a small room where rocks were laid out on shelves. They were quite ordinary-looking rocks. Had I seen them on some hillside, I would not have given them a second thought. Then the man closed the door so that the room was in total darkness and turned on an ultraviolet lamp.

Instantly the prosaic rocks leaped into a kind of glory. Brilliant colors of an indescribable beauty were there before our eyes.

A very simple thing—and yet a very tremendous thing—had happened. A certain power had been snapped on; and a hidden world leaped into life.

As I look at my universe and walk among my fellow humans, I have the deep belief that hidden realities are all around us. These hidden realities are there in the physical world; and they are there, also, in the human world. If I am foolish enough to think that I see all there is to be seen in front of my eyes, I simply miss the glory.

I believe, then, that my chief job in life—and my astonishing privilege—is to snap on an extra power so that I can see what my naked eyes—or my naked mind—cannot now see. I believe that I have to do this particularly with my human fellows. My ordinary eyes tend to stop short at those opaque envelopes we call human bodies. But we have learned that by turning on a certain power we can penetrate to the inside of these envelopes.

We call this extra power “imagination.” At its highest, we call it “empathy,” the power to see through and to feel through to the inner life of other human beings. It is a kind of ultraviolet lamp of our psychic life. When we turn on this lamp of imaginative sensitivity, we make the prosaic human beings around us come excitingly alive.

Zona Gale once set down as the first article of her creed: “I believe in expanding the areas of my awareness.” I’d do the same. If I expand the areas of my awareness, I move understandingly into realities beyond me. When I move into them understandingly, I know what I can do and what I should do. If I don’t move in understandingly, if I stay in ignorance on the outside, then, in all likelihood, I will do mistaken things.

The great principle of love depends on this. He who loves another tries truly to understand the other. We can reverse this: he who tries truly to understand another is not likely to hate that other.

Socrates gave no finished catalogue of the “truths” of the world. He gave, rather, the impulse to search. This is far better, I feel, than dogmatic certainty. When we are aware that there are glories of life still hidden from us, we walk humbly before the Great Unknown. But we do more than this: we try manfully to increase our powers of seeing and feeling so that we can turn what is still unknown into what is warmly and understandingly known…This, I believe, is our great human adventure.

A teacher just likes a shining

A teacher just likes a shining star to students. Miss Fu, one of my English teacher, is a shining star in my life.

I happened to be in Miss Fu\'s class when I began my high school years. At that time, I dared not speak English aloud in public, for I was shy and my pronunciation and intonation were poor. Afraid of being laughed at, I never put up my hand to answer the questions Miss Fu raised in class, even if I had some good answers to them. For a time, I even lost interest in practising spoken English. When Miss Fu found out the reason, she encouraged me to speak. First she bought me some English tapes and told me to listen to them carefully, and try to recite them. In class, I was often asked questions and given a lot of chances to practise by little, I became brave enough to speak, and was not afraid to speak English before others. Miss Fu smiled sweetly when she heard the news that I had been chosen to take part in an important oral English contest.

Whenever I look at the stars in the sky, I recognize the brightest one ---- the symbol of Miss Fu in my heart. Miss Fu will always be a shining star in my life!
