everyone in the world, whether he or she is rich or poor, will encounter a lot of difficulties, even hardships. different people may have different ways to deal with them. after reading the little princess, i am dee* impressed by sara’s way to deal with difficulties. the little princess was written by frances hodgson burnett, a famous novelist and dramatist. sara, the *e of the novel, was born in a rich family. in order to get a better education, her father took her from india to london so that she could go to the best school. because sara was kind-hearted, generous and most of all—rich, she was loved by everyone. all went well until her father died in an accident.

everything changed completely. she didn’t understand why the teachers and classmates treated her so badly. even the principal who used to be fond of her, made her work 16 hours a day. sara’s miserable life began...

when i finished reading the book, i was shocked by w

hat the unimaginable pain sara had suffered after her father’s death. she used to be a happy, worriless, and rich princess, but now she was a lonely and poor servant. she had to work very hard without any rest but only had little food. besides she had to endure the unfriendly and even rude ways that her classmates treated her. all teachers and students in the school looked down upon her. the most important fact is that sara had lost the love and care of her parents.

what a mighty pain! if you were sara, could you stand such pain? needless to say, an 11 years old girl, even if it were an *, he might not put up with it. but to my surprise, sara faced it bravely. despite of the torture of the principal and all those pressures above, she still was optimistic towards life.

by reading this novel, i felt inspired and think much. when we meet such difficulties, what should we do? some people always complain that the fate is unfair to them. some people can’t susta

in the hardships and choose to give up. few of them even try to commit * because they lack the courage to overcome it. compared with sara—an eleven years old girl who can treat the pressure of life with optimistic spirit, these people’s performances are sounded so lamentable. why can’t they make it?

however, what impress me most are her characteristics and the thought of her “being a real princess.” this “real princess” does not mean luxury palaces, beautiful clothes and the apple of the others’ eyes, but being kind, generous and having good manners. it is unnecessary for “a real princess” to be strong in body, but she must be strong in will. sara is a real princess in my heart all the time, whether she was rich and wore beautiful clothes in the classroom or she was cold and hungry in the attic, just because she had the good characters and kind heart.

the story went on. fortunately, a friend of sara’s father found her and told her that her father left a great su

m of money to her. i pray and believe that every good person in the world deserve a good result. so does sara.(554words)

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incre*ty, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way

Charles Dickens(1812~1870),one of the greatest novelist in England. I have read his A tale of two cities .And this is the beginning of the book.

“A Tale of Two Cities”, one of Dickens’ works, is a well-known long story. And it has a great influence on the society at that time. When I saw the title at first, I thought it might tell something about the developing process of two cities, which might be no fun. However, after reading it , I found I had been wrong.

It portrays a brutal, bloody and revengeful society as well as love and friendship. It happened before and after the Revolution in France. The ruthless and cruel landowners and noblemen exploited the miserable people who owned nothing, but these poor people worked for others day and night. Noblemen had the power that one word would doubtlessly send others to prison. As time passed by, the noise of the coming-up revolution storm in Paris was growing louder and louder. At last, it was on the fourteenth of July, 1789 that the revolution broke out.

“The Bastille and its officers were in the hands of people, and the people wanted revenge and blood.” The true Freedom of France came. “The Guillotine, the new machine of death, cut off the heads of many, many people—not only the powerful and the cruel, but also the beautiful, the innocent, and the good.” Among the good, there was a man called Darney. Even though his father, wife and friends knew he was innocent, the people thought he was the enemy and would go to the Guillotine.

In spite of a shadow of fear and hate here and there, we can also see the great and kind persons. I think the greatest person is Mr. Manette who had been a prisoner in the Bastille for eighteen years. What he suffered was difficult to imagine, but he was still kind and loved his daughter. He did his best to save his son-in-law, whose father and uncle were the men that had ever sent him to prison. Another great man is the lawyer, Sydney Carton, a friend of Darney. Before Darney went to Guillotine, Mr. Carton changed places with him and he said, “It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever know.” Besides, the story is full of love, including the love between father and daughter, the love between husband and wife, the love among friends and so on. In short, only if you have love in your heart, the life is meaningful. At the same time, the revenge will run away with you, freedom and happiness will be around you.

There is no doubt that Charles Dickens is one of the greatest writers

in English. From this book, I see some true lives and moving stories from the old ages. I think you must feel the same as me that we don’t want to live in that condition. To be frank, we all look forward to living in a peaceful and love situation. Though the present life has improved a lot, there are still wars in some places. All that we need is to solve the problems in peaceful ways instead of by force. So let’s work hard together in order to make our life much more meaningful and happier, make our society more harmonious.

The first time I opened the little prince, I stayed. Not because it is fresh and clear, but those paintings Perry St. Erik su. In the past year, I have received many painted villain cards, but until that day saw the little prince inside the same picture, I just know, originally those figurines and flowers has been and in such a sad fairy tale in the growth of.

How many eyes are colored streamer obscured, see four color change, monsoon; how many ears are all the commotion blocked, not to hear the leaves rustle of silence, singing.

One friend said that one day he saw two children running. They threw a pebble, and the stones fell and ran. This is the starting method. Be smart?

As we grew up, we became stupid.

My version is ma (unfortunately, the electronic version is not found). I love his country, especially those words he describe the little prince and rose of love.

^Its like a flower.^. If you fall in love with a flower growing on a star, then at night you look at the sky and feel sweet and happy, and all the stars seem to be in bloom.^

If you want to see the most beautiful and beautiful love in the world, you cant miss the little prince. Excuse me, but I dont want to start the subject of domestication with you.

So deep in the night, Im afraid I got up in the morning and forget what I said.

Recently, I have finished reading Great Expectations, which is widely considered as the

masterpiece of Dickens. The historic background of this book is Victorian Period which was the time when British was governed by Queen Victoria. The hero of the book is Pip, who was living in a blacksmith family. Someday, he met Magwitch, who was a convict, and he helped him. To show his gratitude, Magwitch gave Pip a good fortune and Pip led a totally different life after he got the money. However, Pip lost all of his money and fame because of his enemies’ plot at the last and become ordinary people at the last.

Dickens is famous for his novel such as Great Expectations, the Tale of Two Cities, Oliver Twist and so on. He always creates some people in lower class and show their different qualities. In Great Expectations, he tried to show us the conflict between different classes in Victorian

Period by telling us the story of Pip. After Pip got the money, he left his friends and family to city, and then he learned to raise his social state. However, he was a child born in a blacksmith family and there’s a wide gap between him and the upper class. Finally, he lost all of his great

expectations and went back to his hometown as ordinary people. Fortunately, he met his lover, Estella, in Satis House and they left there together at the end of the story.

In the book, my favorite character is Joe, Pip’s brother in law. He was a blacksmith and belonged to the lower social class. However, he possessed some good qualities that made him noble. For example, though Joe didn’t know any word, he thought highly of Pip when Pip tried to write him a letter. What’s more, Pip’s sister always considered Pip as the burden of their family but Joe always believed that his brother can become successful. No matter how unkindly he was treated, Joe was always family to others. Undoubtedly, it’s Joe’s noble quality that prevents Pip from becoming someone snobbish.

In my opinion, the story of Pip is really attractive while the writing style is also special. For example, Dickens used simile and metaphor for many times in his book. When Joe visited Pip, Dickens wrote that Joe had taken his hat as a bird’s nest with egg in. I think it’s hard to show the inner world of characters as well as feeling because those things are really abstract. On the other hand, if we write it directly, that may be boring and childish. And by using simile, Dickens transforms the abstract feeling into visual language, with which we can use our imagination to enjoy the story much more easily. I think that we can also make good use of Dickens’s outstanding skills to improve our writing.

After reading “Great Expectations”, many people complained that the class difference will always result in tragedy and they think that we should try to destroy those barriers. However, I think the massage that Dickens wants to deliver is that we should always be friendly,

warm-hearted and optimistic. With these qualities, we can always lead a happy and comfortable life like Joe even though we don’t have much money.

Went to the bookstore during the holiday, I chose a book from a lot of world masterpieces, named Great Expectation, when I pick up this book, I have not expected that such an English book will have a so great impact on me, making my thoughts and feelings very deep, I think that the form and content of this book are all very outstanding.

It is written by Charles Dickens,a famous writter from England, and it is not I will turn to the topic on how it can attract me.

The character in this masterpiece left me the deep impression is falls in love with studied as hard as he himself for did he love Estella so much? Just for her beautiful face? because she is pretty? She is rich? She is proud? In fact, I think Pip pay out so much for the didn\'t treat him well and even that she didn\'t respect him at all! She put the food for him as a dog,but he didn\'t hate her. On the contrary, he left from his home and his friends. He just want to be a abandoned a lot than he got. I can\'t understand why he do it in this way. I think it\'s not worth at all. If one person don\'t like you or not respect you,you needn\'t do everything for her. So it made me quite feel sorry for Pip. He had a very difficult life...

Miss Havisham is aslo a character who left me a deep was a pitiful mother died farther was very rich and very only one child,Miss Havisham,by his first fact, she should have a nice life, but her wedding was destroied by her broke her heart and she was want to retaliate all was really a abject she chose a wrong way to continue her life..She wanted to hurt other she had is no good for made her feel a little there was more victims in the are so many persons in the they were hurt they want to hurt other innocent this is no good for them, but they did do not know why they did the world full of is difficult to understand.

That\'s my thought.
